PCOS, Loss & Infertility

About 5 years ago, shortly after we got hitched I met with my doctor for a routine physical. I found out that I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). This bascially prevents me from ovulating on my own, which in turn prevents regular periods and ultimatley, pregnancy. We knew from the get go that getting pregnant on our own would be very difficult.

Fast forward two and a half years to January 2012 - we decide to give it the 'ol college try. I started taking pre-natal vitamins, tracking my periods (or lack thereof) and taking my basal body temperature every morning. You can read more about that here. Our lives drastically changed on September 11, 2012 - our first positive pregnancy test!

After a miscarriage, countless visits to the Reproductive Endo's (REs) office and many, many tears we're 'on a break' (just like Ross & Rachel :)). Right now, this break doesn't have a time frame but it will end eventually and when it does we will be ready to jump right back into the game.

This is a good place to start to get the full picture of our journey. If you want even more information, click here.

Both of my blogs are great outlets for my personal feelings around my infertility, miscarriage and what our future may hold - I thank you for reading, leaving supporting messages and comments about your own situations. I am an open book. If you want to contact me directly, please do so. I'd love to hear from you.

xo,

Amanda
